Guest Display: Dan Harden’s T’au Empire

Warhammer World has regularly changing Guest Displays, showcasing the amazing personal projects created by fans of the hobby, and we have another great Armies on Parade display with us. Dan Harden has created so many Armies on Parade displays over the years that we could probably gather them all into their own Exhibition, and his latest is his D’yanoi Hunter Cadre.

You may recognise Dan’s army and board from articles in December and January’s issues of White Dwarf, where first his board was featured, and then his scenery building was explored in more detail. As well as using the Tidewall Citadel scenery kit, Dan wanted to build his own T’au versions of the Bastion and Munitorum Armoured Containers, and he combined plumbing pipe, parts of Citadel scenery and some extraordinary parts from his bits box (the chassis for four Piranhas!) to realise his vision of T’au scenery.

This is Dan’s third T’au army, continuing the colours from his first collection, originally inspired by a Warhammer Storm of Magic gaming board back in 2010. His simple yet time consuming colour scheme involves a lot of very carefully applied edge highlights.

Rather than planning for a competitive army, Dan simply painted the miniatures he wanted to, including a good spread of model sizes so that the smaller Fire caste infantry really show off the size of the Stormsurge and Riptide.

Come and see this great display for yourself at the Warhammer World Exhibition, before it leaves in late April or early May. Of course, you’ll also get to see the other Guest Displays, thousands of our professionally painted miniatures, and over 20 specially built dioramas!
