M1 Road Closure Warnings for May 11th to 13th 2018

The fickle finger of road improvements has decided to close part of the M1 motorway over May 11th to 13th, which may have an impact on visitors travelling to Warhammer World and Warhammer Fest, especially with these closures happening near to East Midlands Airport.

M1 Road Closure

From Friday May 11th, through to Sunday May 13th, the M1 motorway between Junction 23A and Junction 24 will be closed to traffic during construction of a new bridge.

Southbound traffic will be closed from 20:00pm on Friday.

Northbound traffic will be closed from midnight on Friday.

All lanes will reopen at 15:00pm on Sunday.

Travelers are advised to allow for plenty of extra time to reach their destinations, especially people traveling to East Midlands Airport, located off Junction 23A on the M1.

Traffic will be diverted using Ashby Road (A453) in both directions, with diversion signs in place.

Significant traffic congestion is expected, and advice is to avoid the area if possible during the closure.

If that weekend you are planning to visit us here at Warhammer World, or go to Warhammer Fest at Coventry, please do plan your route in advance, and should it take you near the affected area, allow extra time, travel safe, and we’ll see you with some great hobby to cheer you up on arrival!
